Lionel is an attorney in Don Bennett's novel entitled Lionel Law. This one is about some criminal lord named Farentino, who will destroy your life and has already killed a few. Valentina, one of the characters, wickedly suggests that her father might be placing Farentino to kill me; she also vows to get my father violently. Thinking fast, Lionel implements "LIONEL of FARENTINO'S LAW," an immediate temporary rule for Farentino to clean up his act and not be so GD violent. It is rude to spoil a good pie in the sky.

Because the book has domestic violence at its core and its willingness to really drive that savagery home; how ruthlessness strips away victims—namely Natasha as Carol on the outside. One more turn comes in the form of Natasha, a lawyer who comments both on the legality and helps direct victims to greener pastures. Sounds like a good argument for allies to help each other out and lend hands.

I enjoyed seeing how Lionel's pet, Leo, affects him and his mother Julie with the subplot involved. Something so intense and heavy is immediately offset via a bit of comedic irony tucked away here in this part of the story. I would recommend this book to fans of crime fiction and legal thrillers.

It's a great hook with really nothing to dislike, but I just wish it was a bit more explicitly made about this back-and-forth between Lionel and Valentina, as it's an intriguing relationship, one that could have had stronger origins in digging into their past. Furthermore, Lionel's Law is an undefined entity just floating about in the void, and this sense of mystery regarding it could be used to explain why Lionel would do a bit of unethical business every now and then or what motives/goals lead him towards such activities.

I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars, This is one book I really enjoyed. Well-developed characters as well as a theme involving violence and legality. The author also installed comedic relief, which I found necessary as it brought about balance with the heavy story. I feel like some aspects of this book could be more fleshed out, but nonetheless, it remains an engaging read that will leave readers excited. The book was exceptionally well edited and error-free.
