Raven’s Peak is the first book in the series “World on Fire” by Lincoln Cole. Lincoln Cole is the author behind the many famed novels: Graveyard of Empires, Second Chances, The Ninth Circle, The Everett Exorcism, Collision of Worlds, UAV, Schism, Ripples through Time, Raven’s Fall, Raven’s Rise, and lastly, the book that we will talk about now – Raven’s Peak. Raven’s Peak is a work of fiction introducing us again to a world where body possessions by demons is all real and is a part of some dark plan all aimed in bringing chaos to the human world. However, rest assured that the human council will do anything to prevent that from happening, or can they?
A trained hunter against demons, Abigail Dressler will do everything to find and take back her mentor/adapted father, Arthur, who rescued her from being almost sacrificed to a demon when she was a child. Now, it is her turn to take Arthur back from whichever hellhole he was being held. Abigail will try anything even if the council forbids her from doing anything that is Arthur – related. Secrets revealed and an unexpected companion sticks around. Will she be able to take back the only family she has left from the hands of a very powerful demon? Or will things get dramatically out of hand?
I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. Raven’s Peak was intense! The description of each character, places, and the portrayal of the emotions of each character will leave you breathless and will make you feel that you were with them rather than reading them! My mouth was literally hanging open most of the time! I couldn't put the book down! Raven’s Peak was so well written and exciting that I was so awestruck most of the time making me having loud comments in the office like “What?!”, “No way!”, “That Prologue!” – Yes! That prologue is such a tearjerker leaving me depressed for a day! Raven’s Peak has a very creative story line and twists that will leave you wanting for more! Never a dull moment, indeed!
Now, we all heard of demons and possessions like since forever, dating back in the medieval times, even before that! Personally, I know somebody who claimed to have known somebody that’d been possessed (Goosebumps!). There were also claims that such phenomenon is psychological and that may have been a sign of a multiple personality disorder. I know Raven’s Peak is a work of fiction, but hey, even Dan Brown talked about his share of demons in his books.
Raven’s Peak is a sure recommendable book for readers who love paranormal and suspense stuff! I will still recommend this book even to those who don’t sway with the paranormal side; Raven’s Peak has more than enough of its drama, friendship, family, and suspense – wrecking fields for y’all to be hooked! All I know is that I’m too hooked I can’t wait to read the remaining two sequels (Raven’s Fall, Raven’s Rise)!
