Dorothy May Mercer, the author of E-M-P Honeymoon, has created a gripping narrative that kept me turning the pages and left me on the edge of my seat until the very last word. Because of this, and for other reasons to be explained, I give the book four out of five stars. I did not discover any grammatical errors, so I could tell that the book was edited professionally. Although the book had some profanity, it did not have any explicit sex.

My first impression of the book was that it was going to be suspenseful because it was filled with action and suspense from the very beginning. The blend of science-fiction, romance, and suspense is phenomenal. The main characters, Tom and Kelly, are on their honeymoon in Honduras, when they uncover a terrorist plot to attack the United States using an Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP). I commend Mercer for her explanation of the scientific phenomenon of EMPs. The occurrence of an EMP is a very real threat to the state of the world today.

Mercer does an amazing job with character development, considering the length of the book is not extremely long. However, I did find that certain character arcs of some of the secondary characters were lacking. I wish that Mercer had explored the secondary characters a little more. By the time that I reached the end of the book, I felt unfulfilled in the romance aspect of the book. Nevertheless, Mercer made up for this with the amount of suspense in the book. If you are looking for a book with pure romance, this is not the book for you. Furthermore, the pace of the book is very fast, which makes it a quick read. Readers who prefer a slower, more contemplative pace in their novels may find it challenging to keep up with the constant twists and turns. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a multi-genre novel.
