The aftermath of terrorism on our society and the world at large cannot be overemphasized. I always wonder if there are any positive effects at all. East Wind, 2nd Edition by Jack Winnick gives an insight into the intricacies of terrorism, especially as it has to do with religion. This book is one in the Lara and Uri series but can be read as a standalone novel.

Hezbollah operatives consisting of one suicide bomber were sent to infiltrate Los Angeles, followed by threats to the US government to withdraw every form of military support to Israel. The threat read that a bomb would be detonated in one major city every week if they didn't comply. Lara Edmond is a special FBI agent specializing in combating terrorist cyberattacks. Uri Levin is a member of the Israeli Metsada and squad leader in Kidon. Lara and Uri were summoned to track down the terrorists and, with the help of other organizations, bring an end to the heinous act. Was their mission successful? And, did the terrorists receive government support? Grab a copy of this book to find out.

Jack Winnick displayed his vast knowledge of crime fighting and terrorism in this book. And as an engineer, he also showcased his knowledge of science and technology. This book contains a lot of details, most of which I felt were extreme. For instance, there was a step-by-step guide on how to construct a bomb. Why would he disclose such hazardous information? However, East Wind, 2nd Edition, is a very interesting read. Lara and Uri's enthusiasm is unmatched, and the plot was a great one. I really wondered when the strife between Israel and Islamic countries would come to an end. I really hope terrorism will come to an abrupt end some day. I rate this book five out of five stars. I did not find anything worth removing a star from my rating. This book was professionally edited. No grammatical or typographical errors were encountered while reading. I recommend this book to fans of thrillers and crime fighting. Anyone interested in finding out how national defense works would also find this book interesting.
