This is my initial encounter with this author's work. The FBI's Special Agent Lara and the Mossad's Uri are joining forces again, in a second book that I'm eager to read. The author had written has other books that readers may find interesting.
I enjoyed the author's fast-paced story that is about the relationship between the United States and Israel. It was fascinating to read the facts about the history of both countries working together. I read about many brave and courageous people; some that gave their lives to protect their countries.
The author delves into a fictional scenario, a red line, between terrorists and a test of the bond of our countries. They brought together Lara and Uri to use their skills to prevent the terrorist's threat.
Lara had expertise in computer surveillance. She tracked the internet that is used by terrorists to communicate in codes within normal formats like web pages and emails. Terrorists use the internet to buy supplies for their horrific plans. Uri, a member of the Mossad, had many years of experience dealing with terrorism. They were the all-star team both countries relied on to stop the threat.
Terrorists blend in like ordinary people. Radical ideas can coexist with the normal mind, making it hard to find terrorists in society. The government protects citizens by using many ways of surveillance. Investigating citizens has its challenges.
Although there are dangerous people on the internet, most people use it for data, records, education, entertainment, and communication. The internet has made life on earth easier, productive, and safer. Most people have embraced multiculturalism; that change was brought about by the internet.
The author's writing style made the story captivating. FBI meetings with some technical information that was understandable written. In the tense and heated conversations, the agents' questions and the experts' answers were realistic.
The background and activities of each character were well-defined, making the story highly engaging. I liked the author's adept writing of the action sequences brought an exciting element to the story. The author successfully depicted Lara and Uri's relationship.
I found no typos. The editing was flawless. I found nothing I didn't like about this book. The book deserves a rating of 5 out of 5 for this reason. This book is an excellent read for any reader, as it instills pride in the relationship between these two countries and the brave individuals who protect their citizens.
