E M P Honeymoon by Dorothy May Mercer is an electrifying thriller that follows the adventures of Kelly and Tom, a newlywed couple embarking on their honeymoon in Honduras. Their paradise takes a harrowing turn when they stumble upon a sinister plot involving the deployment of an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) device over North America. This catastrophic scheme threatens to plunge the continent into chaos by disabling all electronic devices. In a race against time, Kelly and Tom must summon their bravery and intellect to thwart the terrorists and safeguard millions of lives.

This riveting narrative masterfully keeps readers at the edge of their seats, immersing them in a chillingly plausible scenario of an EMP attack. Mercer skillfully weaves in profound themes of love, survival, and patriotism as our protagonists confront numerous obstacles and perils.

However, E M P Honeymoon isn't without its flaws, preventing it from achieving perfection. The character development falls short, leaving the cast feeling somewhat underdeveloped and at times, hard to relate to due to inconsistent actions and motivations. The plot, while gripping, relies a bit too heavily on convenient coincidences, making it somewhat predictable. The writing style, while straightforward, lacks the innovative flair that could elevate it to a higher level of artistry.

In summary, E M P Honeymoon is a captivating and adrenaline-pumping read, especially appealing to enthusiasts of the thriller genre. While it possesses notable strengths in its premise and plot, it grapples with weaknesses in character portrayal and writing style. A solid 4 out of 5 stars is awarded, acknowledging the thrill and suspense it delivers, while acknowledging that room for improvement exists. This professionally edited book maintains a high level of polish, yet doesn't quite achieve the distinction that sets it apart as a literary masterpiece. It's a commendable read, though not one that will leave an indelible mark in the genre.
