The Date Farm is a very exciting and fast paced book, filled with action and intrigue. I enjoyed the storyline, while not what I could classify as completely original the author did a good job of keeping the story line fresh and moving. I also thought he did a good job keeping it creative, and at no point did the story stall or become complacent.
I however, would have liked to see further development of characters and more detailing of the main characters. It was slightly hard to get a handle on the main characters physical features until halfway through the book. I do not know if there is a book before this one ( as in a series ) but many allusions were made as to events that had already happen... it was a little hard to follow.
Many of the transitions from 1st to 2nd to 3rd persons points of view need serious work, they were very choppy and fragmented, a smoother transition would allow for an easier read and erase confusion in some areas of the story. Many of the conversations between characters I feel could be elevated by simply changing the words used or the structure of the sentence. For example instead of using the phrase "she was happy it worked out" instead replace with "she was elated by the turn of events". Because of the words used in the book, at times, it felt that the book was written for a younger audience, which I know is false due to the adult interactions between the 2 main characters.
While I did not enjoy the writing style of the author and feel that there could be some better revisions done, the story is sound and riveting. It was only difficult to read due to the issues I afore mentioned not due to the storyline.
