Review of Unyielding Destiny
Title: Unyielding Destiny
Review: The story is about Frank and Scott. One is a mobster and the other is a lawyer. Frank's parents died when he was at the age of 8. Then he was taken care of by Don Cabineri. Don helped him to survive. He provided Frank with the essential things he wanted to become a man of honor. When Frank was near the age of 25 he joined the Korean War. There he escaped death. A man named Roy Easten helped Frank during the war. Roy saved the life of Frank by jumping on a grenade. After the war, Frank got himself into the jail of Alcatraz. At the start of the book, Frank is described as a prisoner.
On the other hand, the second important character of this book is Scott Easten. Yes, he is the son of Roy Easten. The man who saved the life of Frank. Scott didn't know that. He just knew that his father was being killed in the war, and he was provided with the medal of honor. Scott lives with his mother. She serves in the army.
After some time, the character of Frank evolves into a mafia man. He helps Don Cabineri to solve many important problems. On the other hand, Scott becomes a lawyer.
Both characters meet several times in the story. Frank wanted to know why Roy saved his life. He continuously searches for the answer to this question.
This book takes place in different timelines. First in 1930, then majorly in 1962 and then in 1978, and finally in 2008. The author has also described the assassination of John F. Kennedy. There is also a mention of Mission Impossible.
By reading the Alcatraz part of the novel. I was able to relate it to the Prison Break series. Frank has a brain like Michael Scofield, which he uses and plans the escape.
This book also seemed familiar to The God Father. As the theme of both books is the same, the Mafia, so it was very easy to relate. Don Cabineri is like Vito Corleone. His influential aura is just awesome. Here I will quote his words "We must do what needs to be done because we are more honorable than the men we kill."
This book takes the reader into the realm of organized crime. Here, the reader is introduced to one of the strongest mafia in New York.
My favorite quotation from this book is "When destiny commands, nothing can change its course."
This quote is just awesome. It explains the events of the novel very cleverly.
I will give this book 5 out of 5 stars. Because my favorite genera are organized crime and mafia. So I find this book to be very good. The character development of Frank Morris is so good. There was sufficient tension and drama in this story. The author describes the events by using such words that the reader can easily visualize the story. The only thing which I did not like was abusive language. But it is common in Mafia genera.
Throughout the book, I came across zero grammatical errors and no typos. Hence, it seemed professionally edited.
I will recommend this story to anyone who loves to read organized crime and mafia stories.
