The Girl Who Knew Da Vinci is the kind of book for both art and mystery lovers. I am and will always be a Dan Brown fan of his work and when I read the title I thought it would be similar to his work with the legendary artist in his book “THE DA VINCI CODE”. When I first stumbled across this one, I didn’t expect to like it. The author tries to aim for Dan Brown’s level of intrigue, edge of seat anxiety and mystery, but I have to be honest here. The real mystery, I felt, and all that drama don’t start until much later in the story. The characters, however, were well written.

The story itself runs on two timelines and it wasn’t confusing to follow both timelines in the story. Every character has something to contribute to the mystery and it gets solved in an appreciable manner at the end, but I was slightly disappointed with the plot in the end as it falls flat. The romantic aspects of the story were a little cliché to me, but the mystery definitely covers that aspect.

On the whole, my opinion and conclusion regarding the book is that the whole book was professionally done, for a novel like this, and it was an enjoyable read. The content in some parts seems more mature than average, so one will have to choose accordingly to pick the book to read. The setting, the premise in which the story keeps progressing will take your imagination for a rollercoaster ride trying to keep up. This is a book you will not put down. Personally, I would rate it a 4 out of 5, but if this is your first mystery novel based on history and art, you are in for a treat for sure. I would highly recommend the book to anyone who enjoys a good book on a Sunday afternoon or just curled up with it on a rainy day.
