“Morrow’s Con” was an enjoyable and creative story that focused on the planning leading up to a major con, rather than the con itself. Morrow, the main character is a skilled con man who has to perform the perfect con to obtain a painting for his employer, a major player in a crime family. Throughout the story, there are many obstacles that Morrow and his team have to overcome before and during their con. On a scale from 1 to 5, 5 being the best, I would rate this book as a 3 out of 5. At times while reading I wished the story would progress quicker as the many obstacles in Morrow's plan began to feel repetitive. For example, the introduction of Arthur’s character was unexpected, and after finishing the book I felt like the story could’ve followed a similar path without his character. Without his character, I think Tara’s character development could have been more surprising and progressed further in her relationship with Morrow. There were many plot twists in this story, some of them were predictable, but I did enjoy the way the story ended. Throughout Morrow’s planning of the con, many issues arose and the writer made sure all of these side plots had their conclusions. However, I did expect more development between Morrow and the bartender at Pike Pub Place. Leading up to the con, there were many interactions between the bartender and Morrow, and I expected her to be at the last celebration with the team. Although she was not a part of the team, I thought the interactions between them were developing for her to be introduced into the con. Overall, the book was enjoyable and the ending was what I wanted from the story. There are a few grammatical errors present throughout the book as well.
