Clifford's War, the sequel to the PI Clifford Dee series, delivers an exhilarating and action-packed story that will captivate readers. Clifford, alongside his team—Sara, Bailey, and Daniel—joins forces with Special Agent Sims to take down a criminal operation masterminded by Kevin Burr. Kevin enlists the help of Dark Fenix, a renowned artist, to smuggle rifles into Africa during his music tours. But Kevin's nefarious activities don't stop there; he orchestrates assassinations to divert attention away from his operations, and now he's after Clifford and his associates for investigating him. Prepare for an enthralling journey within the pages of this book.

The camaraderie displayed by Clifford and his team throughout the story feels more like that of close friends rather than a strictly professional investigative unit. Their interactions often involve casual banter and humorous situations, occasionally overshadowing the seriousness of the unfolding events. While their bond adds a sense of warmth, it occasionally compromises the level of professionalism one would expect from seasoned investigators.

Notwithstanding this minor setback, Clifford's War excels in multiple aspects, making it a highly recommended read. The fast-paced narrative keeps readers on the edge of their seats, offering unexpected twists and turns that constantly surprise and captivate. Expertly crafted action sequences, including adrenaline-fueled gunfights and heart-stopping confrontations, immerse readers in Clifford Dee's high-stakes world.

The character development in the book is commendable, particularly with Clifford Dee himself emerging as a protagonist readers can rally behind. His unwavering commitment to justice and resourcefulness make him a captivating character to follow. Additionally, the relationships between Clifford and his team members add depth and humanity to the story, heightening the emotional stakes.

Moreover, the pacing of Clifford's War is skillfully executed, maintaining a consistent momentum throughout. The author strikes a balance between intense action sequences and quieter moments of character development, ensuring constant reader engagement without overwhelming them.

While the excessively friendly and casual nature of Clifford's team may undermine the level of professionalism one would expect from an investigative unit, Clifford's War shines in numerous other aspects. From its fast-paced narrative and thrilling action sequences to its well-developed characters, this book offers a captivating and entertaining reading experience. Therefore, I rate it 4 out of 5 stars, deducting one star for the aforementioned flaw. Fans of action thrillers and crime suspense will find much to enjoy in this exhilarating installment of the PI Clifford Dee series. The book was perfectly edited.
