Clifford's War: Without End by J Denison Reed is an electrifying crime thriller that plunges readers into a world of high-stakes investigations concealed by senior government officials. Serving as the second installment in the gripping Clifford's War series, this novel is an interesting narrative that will leave readers on the edge of their seats.

When the FBI hesitates to pursue these crimes, Clifford and his team of agents are forced to operate outside the confines of standard procedure. The story wastes no time thrusting readers into the heart of the action as Clifford sustains a critical injury, prompting a frenetic rush to the hospital. The intensity reaches its zenith when two of Clifford's crew members, Sara and Daniel, witness the murder of a senator. As the search for Senator Reeves' killer intensifies, another member of the crew, Bailey, becomes entangled in a seemingly minor copyright case involving an up-and-coming rap star. However, Bailey soon uncovers a web of connections between a government agency and a well-known rap artist planning an international tour to disguise a weapons smuggling operation in Africa. Despite Clifford and his crew's relentless pursuit of justice, each lead they follow hits a wall, leading them to suspect that there is more to the story than meets the eye.

This book is an absolute triumph, holding readers captive with its relentless, action-packed narrative. The author skillfully maintains an exhilarating pace, ensuring that readers are fully engrossed in the heart-pounding events unfolding on the pages. The action scenes are particularly enthralling, leaving readers unable to tear their eyes away from the electrifying sequences. Moreover, the incidents portrayed in the book serve as a searing indictment of the pervasive corruption that plagues government officials, shedding light on how these crimes are conveniently swept under the rug by those in power.

However, there are moments when the book references events from the previous installment in the series, which detracted from my reading experience and left me with a sense of missing vital details.

Nevertheless, these minor setbacks do not overshadow the book's exceptional qualities. The editing is praiseworthy, ensuring a seamless reading experience. Thus, I rate this book 4 out of 5 stars. For those who relish action-packed thrillers and enthralling crime tales, this book is an absolute must-read that will leave you craving more.
