Review of The Date Farm
The Date Farm by Jack Winnick is the fourth book in the series. It focuses on the newlyweds, Uri and Lara. After returning from Israel, they go to Lara's home to see her parents. Uri and Lara's dad enjoy each other's company. They share stories of missions they were part of.
While sleeping at night, Uri and Lara are summoned to work because of a shooting in a mall. A group of men entered the mall and spread across all floors. They released gas grenades and started shooting everyone. When they finished, they committed suicide to hide the identity of their employer.
I like that the author was able to link the events of this book with those of the previous one. The books in the series are connected, but this book can be read as a standalone. I like that the author didn't explain all the characters again. He let their storylines and personalities do that for him. Every character was unique and had a role to play. There were no filler characters. I like how the author modifies real-life events and uses them to tell a story. It takes skill and highlights how good he is as a writer.
I didn't like that Uri and Lara left their honeymoon to work on a mission. It seemed unrealistic because they could have sent other agents. Some parts of the book were unnecessary and were used as fillers. It made my interest in the book subside. However, the book picked up pace, and the storyline flowed well. For these reasons, I give this book a rating of 4 out of 5 stars. I found no errors in the book, which indicates that it was well-edited.
Terrorism is a crime against humanity. Offenders should be severely punished. Their constant use of religion as an excuse to commit crimes annoys me. All religions preach peace and love. Children should be taught at an early age about the dangers of terrorism. It will help reduce the number of terrorists in the future. I recommend this book to those who love books with action, romance, drama, and suspense.
