Uri Levin, a member of the Metsada, which is the Mossad's Special Operations arm, is assigned to work with FBI special agent Lara Edmond on a significant mission. Despite her outstanding skills and academic achievements, Lara is not taken seriously by others. The mission involves preventing further catastrophic attacks following a nuclear explosion in Los Angeles by a Hezbollah operative named Walid. Lara uses her expertise in technology to scour the dark web for any potential bomb threats, while Uri and Lara collaborate to save more lives. The question remains whether they will be able to find the necessary information to prevent additional bombs from detonating and if they will be able to hold those responsible accountable for their actions. The stakes are high, and the outcome of their mission is uncertain.

After reading the book, I gained a better understanding of the ongoing conflict between Arabs and Jews. Despite the war, the Muslim characters in the story displayed unwavering devotion to their religion, which I found admirable. Among the characters, Lara particularly stood out to me as a strong-willed and determined woman who excelled in a male-dominated field. Even when her opinions clashed with those of her superiors, she always showed respect. Uri's professionalism also impressed me, especially during his time in America, where he quickly gained the trust of others.

The author, Jack Winnick, demonstrated his expertise in chemical engineering throughout the book, providing in-depth information that added to the realism of the story. What I appreciated most was how seamlessly he integrated relevant information into the plot without resorting to blatant exposition. Overall, Winnick did an excellent job of creating a compelling crime thriller.

The cover of this book caught my eye, and the author's writing style is remarkable. It is both captivating and comprehensible, making it easy for readers to follow the plot without getting lost. The characters in this book are well-crafted, and each one played their part perfectly. Among all of them, I found Lara and Uri to be the most interesting, and they surprised me until the very end. I admire how committed they are to their job and how they remain focused despite the challenges they face. I was so engrossed in the story that I stayed up all night reading it. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and the author, Mr. Winnick, deserves credit for creating such realistic and believable characters. I also appreciate his in-depth knowledge of the Middle East and the way he portrayed the political situation without being offensive.

There was nothing I disliked about East Wind, 2nd Edition. The book was exceptionally edited, too. Therefore, I would rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. I would recommend this book to readers who are suckers for thrillers inspired by true events.
