Devil Among Us is the second book in the Lara and Uri series. This action-packed book was written by Jack Winnick. It tells the story of a terror attack on a New York synagogue, as Lara Edmond and Uri Levin have the responsibility to investigate it.

It all began with the synagogue explosion in New York. It happened so suddenly that many people didn't see it coming. The explosion at the synagogue took a lot of lives and injured many. Lara Edmond is an FBI special agent who was on the case. After Lara and her colleagues searched Bar-lev's apartment, they revealed that there were some suspicious acts concerning the synagogue explosion that could be linked to Mr. Bar-lev. Subsequently, Uri, an Israeli agent who was in Tel Aviv, received a phone call inviting him to come to New York to help investigate the synagogue bombing. Why was Uri chosen by the FBI? Who could have been the mastermind behind the bombing? There are a lot of mysteries to be revealed when you read this book. Grab a copy of the book to find out.

There are many positive aspects to this book, but if there is one thing I love the most about it, it is the storyline. It was so unique and really interesting. I didn't feel bored or tired when I was reading the book. Secondly, I love the author's ability to give his books appropriate titles that fit the plot of the book. The title informs us that we might not really know who the pretender is amongst us when issues arise. I appreciate the author's imaginative abilities. Jack Winnick was able to create a vivid picture of what a bombing scene looks like in my mind. Lastly, I love how dedicated Lara and Uri were to carrying out their job. It is really a good attribute that is worthy of emulation.

I dislike a few things about the book. I would begin with the rate at which the author gave explicit details about the violence in the book. I wasn't comfortable with the violent scenes. I also dislike the fact that there were many names of places and people in the book. I found it difficult to keep up with the names.

I rate the book 4 out of 5 stars. I deducted a star because of the things I disliked about the book. There were some grammatical errors in the book. This shows it was professionally edited. I recommend this book to lovers of action and crime books because they would enjoy reading it.
