Review of East Wind, 2nd Edition
Jack Winnick wrote the book East Wind, 2nd Edition. Lara Edmond is an FBI technical agent from the United States who is in charge of monitoring suspicious internet activity and websites. Uri Levin is a skilled member of the Israeli government's intelligence agency, Mossad. Uri, a prized assassin, is dispatched to America to collaborate with Lara on the latest threat: bomb terrorism. This duo still makes time to connect and share precious moments, which adds a touch of romance. Get a copy to learn more about the bomb terrorism and the romance between Lara Edmond and Uri Levin.
Everybody is either a friend or an enemy in acts of terrorism and attacks, depending on where you are standing. This work forces the reader to think about gray areas. With this book, the author performed an amazing job. The reader could picture the numerous scenes because of the vivid and thorough description. Even though I found the book's premise to be rather predictable, it was still incredibly entertaining. There was no way to know in advance when or why specific events would occur. Throughout the entire work, the author exhibited a constant calm.
I was immediately smitten with Lara as a character. She is capable, self-reliant, and highly skilled in computer technology. When I read stories involving government organizations, I notice too many men who take center stage, and the women often settle into supporting roles as the story goes on. She collaborates equally with her partner, Uri. She did experience gender discrimination in the book at one point, but she addressed it with sassiness and sternness. She did this, and I couldn't help but laugh and support her. Every character is well-developed, and wherever necessary, the proper backstory is given. The fact that Lara was portrayed as an excellent agent and a talented data analyst striving to make a big difference in a department run by alpha males was another aspect of her that I admired. Uri, despite having a clever nature, remained unassuming and modest.
The book was enjoyable to read, but I didn't like how many characters were introduced. I understand that the first book in a series needs to establish the main characters and their backgrounds. This one had a lot of characters who were introduced and then dropped completely. It was difficult to discern who was significant and who was not. Aside from that, the book was intriguing, and I must commend the author and editor for the book being exceptionally well edited.
I would rate this book five out of five stars. The book is informative and entertaining, and I had a great time reading it. I recommend this book to all adults and also to action novel lovers.
