The upbringing of a child is determined largely by the training he receives. For instance, I have thought right from a very young age that killing is a very grievous act that can't be justified for whatsoever reason. I grew up with that information and also lived with it because it was part of the input when I was small. East Wind, 2nd Edition by Jack Winnick gave an insight into the beliefs of some terrorist groups. They grew up with a lot of abominable ideologies, which they see as normal. This is an absorbing read that will open you up to a lot of things.

After the attack that was carried out in Lebanon, there was a plan for another, this time even bigger than the previous attack. Walid was only 16 years old, and it seems like the time to start the journey of his mission has begun. Sheikh Nasrallah was determined to create a new Shia nation out of Lebanon. Walid is one of the potential tools in this planned attack. In his new world, things seemed different; he met new friends, and he still fell in love. He has been opened to a new world with different views and beliefs. Will his new environment affect the purpose of the mission? Will he still go on with the mission?

Curbing the menace of these terrorists could be very difficult because it is something that is introduced to them at birth. This book gave me a picture of what this terrorist sect is like. I have only watched a few videos about this terrorist, and they were really scary. Reading this book, especially with the engaging plot, gave me a very detailed picture of what terrorism is all about. I can't rate this book less due to how comprehensive it was. I keep wondering how the subsequent books would be if this one, which is the first, is so amazing. Due to the well-articulated and synchronized content of this book, I will rate it 5 out of 5 stars. The book was well-edited and all credit to the author.

There was nothing to dislike in this book, though it contains gory scenes, which I wasn't so pleased with. I enjoyed the storyline and how the author was able to reconcile different stories together to make it a whole.

This book contains a salient romance twist, which was on its part very interesting. I recommend this book strongly to lovers of crime thrillers and romance. Lara and Uri are amazing characters to look out for.

Sometimes, we just need to move to a new environment for our mindset and mentality to change like Walid here. This is an excellent review. Well done!

The best way to approach life is to learn, relearn and unlearn. Learning new traditions and unlearning some helped Walid to forsake his old ways. Once again, Jack Winnick distinguished himself with this book.

The Lara and Uri series is quite an interesting one. It is sad how these terrorists recruit young people and brainwash them into doing their terrible bidding. I hope Lara and Uri stop them in time. Beautiful review.

It's so sad and surprising that there are people like Walid out there. Those trained to be used for dangerous missions. Some end up making the opposite of the decision Walid took. Good review.

In all of the Lara and Uri book series by the amazing Jack Winnick, I've also noticed the selfless quality possessed by both characters. Lara and Uri are not afraid to put themselves out there and stop terrorism.

I read this book and was very much moved by the contents. On this earth there a group of people. Creators and co creators. It is unimaginable how young people's career can be cut short by people with false beliefs in the name of practising religion. Religion is mearnt to bring peace and love. Not the vice versa. Kudos to people like Lara and the rest who are toiling day and night to see that sanity is restored back to earth. At least in any group of crazy people there's always a degree of sane people. The crazy people Will go to an extent trying to live the world worse they found it. There's no way planning one worse terrorist after another will ever justify anything. Any form of justice should be left to justy one who is the almighty God. Creator of everything. After all we are all human and make mistakes. The reason why there's no time terrorism has ever solved anything. But breeding ground for hatred fear name it.
