There is no doubt that terrorism has been a great problem in recent times with the advancement of technology. Therefore, strict measures need to be put in place by the governments of nations to check acts of terrorism.

East Wind, 2nd Edition by Jack Winnick is the first book in the Lara and Uri series. This book features two main characters, Lara Edmond and Uri Levin. Lara Edmond is a strong, independent FBI agent with adept computer skills. Uri is a resilient agent who is fluent in Arabic and also works for Metsada in the special operations unit of Mossad in Israel. This book begins with the tragic event that occurred in Marina del Rey, Los Angeles. An atomic bomb was triggered and exploded, resulting in thousands of deaths and injuries. The terrorists further threaten the United States to revoke their commitment and support of Israel against Pakistan, or else they will bomb more cities in the United States. This demand came with a five-day ultimatum. As a result, Lara and Uri were assigned by the government to work together to go after the terrorists and neutralize their imminent threat to prevent the destruction of lives and cities in the United States. Would they succeed? Read this book to find out.

East Wind, 2nd Edition by Jack Winnick is an interesting read. I enjoyed reading every page of this book. I am more fascinated by the author’s mental prowess. His ability to write this book and go into some nitty-gritty about technology speaks volumes of his intellect. I learned some new facts about science and technology. The author’s writing style is impeccable. He was able to keep me glued with anticipation for the next scene. I also admire the interesting storyline of this book. There was also thorough character development for each character in this book. The major themes featured in this book include crime, terrorism, history, love and romance. The vivid description of the fight scenes in this book also contributes to one of the interesting features I like about this book. I also noticed that this book was thoroughly proofread and edited. I did not come across any typographical or grammatical errors while reading.

However, there is one thing I did not like about this book. I found some of the information contained in this book to be unnecessarily long, especially the section that discusses the manufacturing of the atomic bomb. Aside from this complaint, there is nothing else I dislike about this book. As a result, I would rate it 5 out of 5 stars. This is because I had a great time reading it.

I recommend this book to lovers of action and thriller novels. I do not recommend this book to people who are offended by descriptive violence and erotic scenes.
