Review of East Wind, 2nd edition
East Wind, 2nd edition by Jack Winnick is a romance and action novel. The action centers on terrorism and crime. Two agents from different countries with different backgrounds have to work together. The fate of many lives depends on it.
Uri Levin is a Mossad agent married to Danielle. He refuses to retire, and she leaves him. Uri discovers a coded message while on a mission. He is assigned to work with Lara Edmund in America. Lara Edmund is an FBI agent. She knows her way around a computer. She designs a program that monitors emails on the web. The emails are screened by her and her team, searching for coded messages between terrorists. The terrorists sent Walid to America to learn how Americans make their bombs. He goes undercover and masters the craft perfectly. What are the terrorists planning? Will Lara and Uri be able to stop them? To find out, grab a copy.
I admire the author's writing skills. The writing was clear and concise, making it easy to comprehend. The author tells the story in a way that is so suspenseful that I couldn't take my eyes off it until the end. I got to see the perspective of terrorists. I found it interesting as they believe they are doing what's right for their people. I got more insight into the conflict between the Arabs and the Jews. Despite the war, the Islamic characters in the book are all devoted to their religion. I admire that a lot. My favorite character is Lara; she is a strong-willed woman whose devotion to her craft leads her to the top in a male-dominated field. I like how she respected her superiors, even when their opinions clashed. Uri's professionalism stood out when he went to America, as he easily gained their trust and settled quickly.
I found no flaws in the book. The book highlights the importance of being security conscious as a nation. No matter how one feels, terrorism is terrible, and offenders should be severely punished. There's no excuse to justify killing thousands of innocent people. This book also highlights the importance of security agencies in a country.
I found no flaws in the book, indicating it was exceptionally well-edited. I happily give this book a rating of 5 out of 5 stars. It is very suspenseful, and the storyline flows well. I recommend it to those who like crime, action, and romance novels.
