The second book in Jack Winnick's Lara and Uri series is called Devil Among Us. The incidents, characters, and dialogue are all made up by the author, Jack Winnick. Any similarities to actual events or people, living or dead, are entirely coincidental. With the help of this book, we are able to investigate a number of fascinating subjects, including terrorism, mystery, love, and many more alluring themes. The book is made up of 36 chapters and 261 pages.

The two main characters are Lara and Uri. To unravel the riddles surrounding the mass murder in New York, Mossad agent Uri Levin and FBI agent Lara Edmond of the Joint Terrorism Task Force are partnered. Uri is also Lara's partner and lover. The novel begins with a suicide bombing at a synagogue in New York City, which results in hundreds of injuries and deaths. The bombing appears to have been carried out by synagogue members, which does not sit right, so the two agents, Lara and Uri, are left with the challenge of finding the mastermind behind the bombing. This book is packed with action and suspense. The two agents are involved in heated battles with Islamic terrorists.

While reading this book, I noticed a lot of enjoyable and positive aspects, but most importantly, what I enjoyed the most was the storyline. I admire how well-organized the author made the plot. I also like the book's title. It is quite illustrative, and it also relates to the plot. The connection between Lara and Uri was very appealing to me. They seem to work well together and are a strong couple. I'm grateful to the author because each page of the book was quite descriptive, which made it easy for me to understand. I am amazed by his writing abilities.

Regarding dislikes, I didn't find anything to criticize about this book. Even for those who had read the previous book, the new cast of characters required some getting used to, but I didn't think it was a big deal. Because of the exceptional editing and the fact that I thoroughly enjoyed reading it, I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars.

It contains a lot of violence, which is enough to keep children from reading it. I recommend this book to adults who will not be bothered by the book's violence and are interested in crime thrillers, adventure stories, and detective stories. Obtain a copy to find out who is behind the bombing and to enjoy the plot.
