Review of East Wind, 2nd edition
I felt goose bumps as I read through the chapters of this book. I could very much relate to some of the content of this book. This is because I come from one of the most multi-ethnic and multi-religious countries in the world. Unfortunately, the issue of terrorism is one thing we have suffered from since we got our independence. After reading this book, I am tempted to accept that religion is the major cause of most terrorist acts perpetuated around the world. I must say, this book intensified the fear I already had for those who practice the Muslim faith. East Wind, 2nd edition by Jack Winnick, is a book that exposes the in-depth secrets of terrorism.
This is a well-written book with lots of thrilling scenes . The author featured some interesting characters in this book. Uri Levin is a member of the Metsada, the Special Operations arm of the Mossad. Uri was lagging in his relationship with Daniella, which unfortunately led to their divorce. Fate brought Uri and Lara together as working partners to track down terrorists. Lara Edmond was an intelligent lady. Lara had performed exceptionally well in her school days, and she was known for her exceptional computer skills in decoding terrorist cyber communications. An explosion occurred in Marina del Rey, which claimed a lot of lives. Read to find out the series of events that led to that explosion. How did security agents track down these terrorists?
There is so much to love about this book. This book started with a fast-paced action that got me almost hooked at the beginning. I was amazed by how the author wrote this story. It felt as though I was either watching a movie or I was part of this story. Reading about how Muslim children were brain-washed to become extremists and, unfortunately, become objects to fulfill terrorist missions is a call to all parents and government agencies to pay close attention to children. I could not spot any errors in this book.
I had a few issues with this book. Firstly, this book had no table of content. It made it a bit difficult for me to navigate through this book or to pick up from where I left off. Some of the conversations in this book seem so lengthy and unnecessary. It made it seem like the author was just trying to increase the number of pages.
However, I enjoyed all the time I spent on this book. I don't think the reasons above are enough to take a star off this book. I will rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. I recommend this book to all lovers of crime thriller books.
