Review of The Trafficking Murders
Are you a passionate fan of mystery books? The Trafficking Murders by Brian O'Hare is book five of an Inspector Sheehan Mystery and contains all the wonderful thrills of a mystery novel. It consists of fifty-eight chapters and a total of three hundred and thirty-seven pages. This published book is a fictional tale of two different trafficking rings in Belfast. A Romanian farm girl, Alina Balauru, leaves her home for well-paid work in Northern Ireland. She is allowed the opportunity to assist her parents and travel free of charge until she begins working. This is a dream come true for her until fate deals her a cruel turn of events.
Two Chinese students, Lin Hui and Cheung Mingzhu, are given academic scholarships from Shenzhen University in China to study at Queen’s University in Belfast. They were then groomed into a wealthy lifestyle at a considerable cost. Unable to bear the burden, they decided to run away, which left one dead and another in hiding. Can these girls miraculously escape the hands of traffickers, or are their tragic fates already sealed? Delve into The Trafficking Murders to find out.
From the moment I read the cover of this book, I knew it would be a compelling and thrilling novel. The author provided a glossary at the beginning of the book, which was enormously helpful in understanding the acronyms throughout the book. The book was extremely detailed and an exhilarating adventure. The prolific author was not too graphic with the trafficking scenes, which was comforting. I was able to visualize the plots and eagerly follow along with the book.
The action scenes in the book had me on the edge of my seat, anxious to find out what would happen next. I naturally found myself sympathizing with the abused characters and willing for justice to be delivered for them. It was heartbreaking to know that these are factual events that could and have happened to some people. When you are young, you are naive to some of the dreadful things that happen in this world, and this book is a wake-up call.
There was nothing negative about this book. It was an excellent read for me. I would rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. I only discovered a few mild errors while reading this book; it was professionally well edited. I would heartily recommend this book to most prospective college students that want to study abroad. It promotes awareness of the possible dangers they can face if they are not cautious. Any adult with a love for mysteries will equally enjoy this book.
