Uri Levin is one of the few members of the Metsada, the Special Operations arm of Mossad, who is given a big mission with an FBI special agent. Lara Edmond is a special agent for the FBI. She is incredibly talented and was top of her class, but no one takes her seriously. A Hebollah operative, Walid, sets off a nuclear explosive in Los Angeles. Uri and Lara try to intercept and prevent more devastating attacks. Lara uses her technological skills to search the dark web for any indications of bomb threats. The two agents work together to save more lives from being lost. Will they find what they need to stop more bombs from going off? Will they be too late? Will the people responsible for the bombs be held accountable, or will they continue to cause devastation?

I liked how knowledgeable the author was in order to write this book. Everything was well thought-out and detailed. The book had an incredible amount of detail. I also really liked how the author switched the point of view from character to character to show things in different lights. I felt it made the story well-rounded and thorough. The characters all felt believable and realistic. I really like Lara’s personality because she has such a strong sense of determination to prove herself.

One small gripe that I had was the switching between the past and the present. On occasion, I would get confused as to which was which. Though the switch was incredibly important for the back story, I just wish that the book started in the past and then moved to the future, so there was not a disconnect or interruption in the flow of the storyline.

I have rated East Wind, 2nd edition by Jack Winnick, 4 out of 4 stars. The book was exceptionally well-edited; I found no grammatical or spelling errors throughout the book. The book was action-packed, and the characters were all extremely well developed. I found the dialogue to be believable. The book had a great flow to it. I had a hard time putting the book down.

I would recommend this book to people who enjoy action novels. People who enjoy reading political novels and espionage books would also enjoy this book. There is a decent amount of profanity, so I would not recommend this to a younger audience. The profanity, violent scenes, and sexual content would make this novel unsuitable for a young audience.
