Young Americans by Peter S. Rush is a story about Tommy Logan, a small-time pot dealer. While growing up, Tommy was sexually molested by a priest in his Catholic elementary school. To make matters worse, his father and the nuns did not believe him, and this experience turned Tommy into a rebellious child. Tommy is always interested in making fast money and he didn't believe he could get the kind of money he wanted by going to college, so he dropped out. Tommy's girlfriend, Sandy, introduced him to Harry Burr, a big time drug dealer who lives in Atlanta. Tommy had some issues trusting Harry because he was always acting shady. Harry set Tommy up by gifting him a gun related to the murder. Will Tommy get out of this trap with the murder weapon found in his possession?

The truth is that not everything that glitters is gold, and when we have doubts about something or someone, it's better to get rid of it or give the person space, before it lands us in a situation beyond our control. The contents of this book are a well-detailed insight into the happenings in our society. In an interesting and fast-paced plot, the author gave us an insight into the effects of child abuse, drug trafficking, religious extremism, drug addiction, sexual molestation, and drug abuse. Parents should learn to trust the words of their children over other people, no matter what rank the person might hold. It's a bad thing for a child to be sexually molested as it makes the kid disorganized and traumatized and can affect their future.

This book is a great read, and I found it enjoyable and interesting. I didn't find anything to dislike about it. Youths should stop trying to make quick money and stop using drugs because it can ruin their life plans and future and even lead to death.

I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars because I learned a lot from it. The storyline flowed without glitches, and the grammatical errors were minimal. This book was professionally well-edited.

I recommend this book to people who love fast-paced and action-packed books; crime and thrillers with a touch of romance. The sexual scenes, graphic content, and vulgarities make it unsuitable for children. People who are also sensitive to the above will also not be comfortable reading this book.
