Review of E M P Honeymoon
E M P Honeymoon is a short novel that tells the story of sacrifice and loyalty to a great country. In this novel, Kelly and Tom are tasked with the responsibility of taking down and rubbishing the plans of an influential terrorist leader. They did not come upon this responsibility by choice or by appointment. It was unexpected and severe, so their little honeymoon had to be paused. On this quest to destroy the terrorist's plan, they discover several ways that the USA could be crippled indefinitely and be thrown off its throne of world power. They understood the assignment before the White House issued orders and determined that the country came first. Will their impressive bravery and sacrifice be enough to save their country and, hopefully, the rest of the world from falling into the greedy, wicked hands of a terrorist?
Dorothy May Mercer, the author, described E M P Honeymoon as a page-turner. I agree with that description because it indeed kept me turning its pages until I finished it. I have never read a book so fast in my life. Why is this piece of information important? It is essential because I want to help you understand how much I loved this novel. I loved it so much that I will go ahead and award it a rating of four out of four stars right now. You will fully understand why this rating was a must for me as you read on.
I have never written a book in my life, but I've read about how long it can take to write one. Whenever I read a super good book, I need to appreciate the author for spending all those grueling hours to present us with such a gift. Dorothy May Mercer deserves all the accolades, flowers, and appreciation she can get for her work on E M P Honeymoon. One of the things I liked about this book was its simplicity. For a book about terrorists, I expected it to be so complicated and filled with jargon (that many people think adds flair to the storyline). All of that was missing from E M P Honeymoon, which I am grateful for.
The second and most appealing aspect of E M P Honeymoon to me is its attention to detail. Dorothy May Mercer gave details on what Kelly and Tom did while chasing and tracking down the terrorist. She did not stop there, though. She also gave us details of what was happening in the enemy's camp and showed us the thoughts of the leader and his followers. I liked this because I got to understand the motive behind the attack on the USA. I also understood the views of these foot soldiers, those below and high in the hierarchy. I really appreciate this particular feature in E M P Honeymoon, and it instantly became what I liked the most about it.
E M P Honeymoon was edited exceptionally well. Dorothy May Mercer did a clean job of correcting every error in it. Not all editors or authors do this for their books. It is not that they do not care to do it, but it is almost impossible to get rid of every single error in a book that is hundreds of pages long. It takes a special kind of dedication to do that. I saw that commitment in Dorothy May Mercer through E M P Honeymoon. I also did not dislike anything about it. Everything about E M P Honeymoon came quickly to me, and I appreciate it.
Do you like novels that tell stories about terrorists and their fight against peace? Do you like Dorothy May Mercer's books and her style of writing? If you answered yes to one or both of the preceding questions, you should read E M P Honeymoon. Maybe you will get to like everything about this book like I did.
