Faults is a Mystery thriller novel by Orion Gregory. The book takes you on a journey of how one person’s suicide can have a drastic impact on those around them. If you love playing a game of cluedo this book is for you as the author gives little clues throughout the book to who the killer might be. It serves readers a fast-paced whodunnit on the tennis court.

In this thrilling book we are first introduced to Milena Lombardi whose suicide leads to a chain of unforeseen events. The author than introduce us to her ex-bestfriend, Sydney Livingstone, as the rest of the novel is about the impact her suicide has on her life. The characters in the book are so well defined, as you unknowingly find yourself constantly reassessing their true intenseness. By adding chapters where the readers heard from the killer themselves was a stroke of genius. As the more you hear from them the more insight you get into their character as well as who it might be. The authors word structure as well as punctuation marks and spelling were spot on throughout the novel, that is to be expected of an award-winning writer in the newspaper and advertising industries.

On the other hand, I would not say this was a bad aspect of the book but more of a choice of preference as I did find myself getting a bit lost as I am not a big tennis fan and there is a good amount of descriptive tennis matches. That being said I was very invested in the murder aspects. The ending for me was a bit of a cliché as many murder novels has used that plot twist in the end. Thus, I did not get that feeling of originality at the end. A few chapters were for me to long than there were those that were unnecessary and irrelevant to the storyline, since I noticed I could skip those specific chapters and still be able to follow the book.

I would rate this 3 out of 4. If it weren't for the unnecessary chapters dragging the storyline a bit and too much descriptive tennis matches throughout the book, this book would have gotten hands down a perfect review.

I would definitely recommend this book to some of my fellow teens and young adults. There are a bit of foul language being used throughout the book that are not appropriate for children. In conclusion if you like crime mysteries, are a tennis fan, or better yet both than you should put this book on your must-read list.
