There is order it is said even amid chaos. No matter how disorganized the city may seem there are always people to keep things in check and make sure that people, who get out of line are held accountable for their misdeeds.

Jake Miller a book written by Billy Ray Williams brings to life a story about Jake, who is the protagonist. He is a Philly detective working a serious case with his partner to bring down a criminal gang. Things are about to get out of hand for jake when he gets a call from his lieutenant at the precinct about a disaster that has just happened under his watch. will jake keep his head focused on the investigation or allow his emotions to get in his way, pickup up Jake Miller to see for yourself?

The novel had a very good background to it. The writer was able to develop the story letting every character have their own story while staying focused on jake the entire time. I like the way he brought out the bond between each pair of partners at the precinct promoting the importance of collaboration and teamwork which is a critical component in all areas of law enforcement. I also liked his choice of names for each character and his attention to detail in the creation of locations in the novel.

I however found myself getting confused at times because of the font selection making the writing to be small and clustered, there were no clear distinctions between events sometimes in the novel; the writer jumped from one scene directly into another without creating enough awareness in the scene before the present one to allow the reader flow with the story. I also felt while reading through that there were some scenes in the novel that could have been allowed to develop in more detail.

Overall I enjoyed the storyline and the writer's ability to challenge my imagination to create each scene and live through each part of the novel making the experience enjoyable. I would rate this novel a 3 out of 4 stars. However, due to the clustered nature of the writing as well as a lack of clarity in the change of scene between events in some cases, I did not give it a perfect score.

I would recommend this novel to people who enjoy reading through the experiences and intrigues which may be uncovered during an investigation, people who enjoy the solving of puzzles and the unseen mysteries that come with it.
