Women are most often taken advantage of when they are in need or in deep trouble. Molestation is one of the major acts suffered by women across every part of the world. Women of Fire and Snow by Nati del Paso is a riveting collection of stories about Mexican female immigrants in America going through lots of pain while trying to find their place and voice in the society they find themselves in.

The author commenced the story with illegal matters in which a pre-med Mexican girl almost ruined her life after she met with an attorney who would help her free her father, who was detained by ICE for using a fake green card. Going deep, we came across Citlali, whose life went zigzag after her father’s terrible death. In order to survive, they moved to the U.S., where her mother met a man who made Citlali’s life a living hell. Citlali, reaching her breaking point, decided to get rid of him by any means possible with the help of her friends. Read this book to find out more about other interesting stories written by this author.

This book served as a gateway for the writer to enlighten many women and girls who were victims of sexual violence. The stories were so real. At some point, I thought Nati del Paso went through these experiences herself, which in turn inspired her to write those fantastic stories. I have to say, I was impressed with how Anthonia was helping her family financially, even though she was very young. This book was exceptionally well edited. I found no errors while reading the book. We saw how important it is for teenagers to be open to other people when they are passing through difficulties. This book is very educative on the aspect of sex education and women's rights in every part of the world.

I found some Spanish words hard to translate while reading the book. A few offensive words were used by the author. Sexual content was also present in the book. It also contains violent acts on different characters in the stories.

I rate this book 3 out of 4 stars. This is because of the vulgar words that were used in the book. This book is limited to people over the age of eighteen because of its sexual content and violation. People who are hypersensitive to sexual violation shouldn’t read this book. I recommend this for young girls and women, and also for lovers of fiction and mystery.
