East Wind, 2nd edition, written by Jack Winnck is a thriller novel following the lives of Lara and Uri, both special agents, who work together after a terrorist attack occurs in Los Angeles. Lara and Uri must learn to work together to prevent the next attack and catch the terrorists in charge. Despite their different backgrounds, Laura and Uri find that they work well together and soon must balance their growing chemistry while solving the mystery at the same time.

This is a suspenseful novel that will keep you on the edge of your seat. The overall mystery and the relationship between Lara and Uri kept me hooked from the beginning. At some points it did feel as though there was too much information included, but I found that it did not take away from the overall story. There is around 40 chapters that follow the lives of Lara and Uri directly after the terrorist attack, which gives the chapters an energetic and suspenseful vibe.

My favorite part of the story was the details. It was clear through the writing that the author has a vast understanding about the topics discussed and was able to incorporate the themes very well into the story. For example, a good amount of the story revolves around nuclear physics, which is a complex topic. However, Winnick is able to include this in the story in a complex and intriguing way that left me wanting more.

I would rate this book four out of four stars. I found this to be well-edited with no errors. There are some scenes that contain mild sexual references but nothing extreme. This book was great in all aspects and there was nothing I noticed that I did not enjoy. Winnick is able to craft an intriguing story that left me both interested in the plot and the lives of the characters. Lara and Uri are two characters with very different backgrounds that I was eager to learn more about.

I would recommend this book to any fans of the genre. This is a great suspenseful read filled with mystery, intrigue, and thrills. There is a romance subplot that helps move the story forward but does not take away from the action and plot of the story. There is an equal amount of action and mystery that makes the story both intriguing but also keeps you wondering until the very end. If you are a fan of spies, mystery, or suspense this is a great read for you.
