Twisted But True is a non-fictional book by Darren Burch. The author did a great job not only by writing the book but also doing great in his life. The author shared the life experiences in the book. The book starts with a brief introduction to the author’s childhood and the scary night when he decided to save lives. The very first incident, after becoming a cop, is portrayed in a funny manner. Most of the cases were funny but on the other hand, the author had faced many serious cases too. The author was surrounded by the cases of Homicides, crimes against children as well as adult sex crimes.

The author divided the stories into different chapters and also he balanced the emotions perfectly as there are some sad stories followed by some funny stories. The book is a great mixture of different emotions. The author not only shared his professional life but also opened up about his personal life affected by his profession. The author faced hardship in his personal life as he lost his son and brother.

It is amazing to read the book as the author has a great memory of events. I liked the way the author shared the stories in the book. He describes the things in a manner that one can imagine himself/herself on the incident site. The book contains stories with a great sense of humor as well as seriousness. It is clear from the stories that the author is a very genuine and humble human and he also loves his job as he clearly mentioned that he loves to save lives. The book contains everything like action, heartbreaks, laughter, and excitement as well as horrific.

The book not only contains life events of the author but it is also very helpful for the people who want to join the same carrier line as well as their family members because this book can help in developing understanding about the law enforcement officers and their life and the kind of situations they have to face in their daily life.

There is no negative aspect in the book. The author fairly described everything with humor and seriousness.

I will give 4 out of 4 stars to the book as it is professionally edited with a lot of stories which are very useful in learning about the situation that we may have never faced in our real life.

I will recommend the book to the readers who want to know more about the life of police officers which can help them to understand them as well as to the people who want to serve the nation as this book can help to note down the tips to solve cases and also they can prepare themselves for future challenges.
