Review of Twisted But True
Our society is plagued with madness, I mean literally. When it comes to cases of hooliganism and violence our society has well-versed individuals in the same. Twisted but true takes us through the life story of the author Darren Burch as a law enforcement officer which isn't smooth in any case since he was left a son before he even began his career. The book takes us through his experiences in the line of duty some very stupefying but true. The book is one hell of an experience as he even switches between various departments like the sexual misconduct department.
The publication is quite a ride, a funny and thrilling one. The author has enhanced the stories to cheer an audience. He makes use of chapters that are well arranged and easily readable all thanks to the spacing and the font used. He has made use of various terms that are fun to the reader. At the end of a chapter, there is a twist section that clarifies the stories in that chapter hence clearing any suspense. To avoid burdening the reader with some terms he makes use of other softer words to reduce the guilt or fear of reading the book.
The stories are also uplifting since the author lost a job with the CIA since he had a baby which might have not been allowed by the agency. He had suffered a divorce and left to cater for his son and he managed to live to tell this story. It is also motivating to see how he was able to marry another wife and carry on with his life. He also portrays the importance of good friends in life who are there to see you move and go ahead successfully even if it kills them. The author shares some photos of him and his friends while in their careers.
There is an emphasis on being our brother's keeper or rather neighbors keeper since some of his cases involved people who succumbed due to negligence yet their neighbors would have helped them. There are also crooks in the society who just want attention unfortunately even if it just isn't necessary. Needless to say, the book is superbly edited and I loved the book generally. The book is just amazing.
I rate the book 4 out of 4 stars since it is more than breathtaking and adds juice to law enforcement and shows how it can turn out fun though it is risky. It also has all kinds of twists and is well portrayed from the onset. I would recommend it to people rearing to join the law enforcement agencies as this gives them a practical hint of what lies ahead of them even in terms of their marriage life.
