Slate lived the stressed life of a medical student. He had his way to cope with all the stress. However, it became a serious issue when he started his fourth year. His relationship and his health are a tragedy. Everything seems bleak for him. When it started to get better, influential people involved themselves in the management of Boston City Hospital. Slate had to pick sides and had to lose something. Will everything turn back to normal?

Firstly, the mystery revolving around the first narrator is a good move from the author. R.J. Petrella began the story in a mysterious way that I could not help but continue reading to know what happened. It kept the suspense at its peak. Secondly, the way each narration fills in on each other was also a good point because it made the backgrounds clearer and brought originality to the plot. Thirdly, the next good aspect is that this book is realistic in its explanation. The detail of diagnosis and hospital matters are easy to understand. The background of certain characters left me speechless. In addition, I like the honesty behind Days of The Giant. It did not sugarcoat the dynamic between a public and a private institute. It even showed how their management and values differ so much they are incompatible. Lastly, the main character is someone willful in the sense which means he is stubborn. For a medical student, his emotions easily lead him. The outcome of his relationship should have never escalated much if he was levelheaded. However, this did give him an interesting character.

After reading Days of The Giant, I could only think of one downside. What happened between Sofia and Gina? I always think that their encounter may have been decisive to Sofia's choice. Therefore, their conversation should have a clear narration.

This negative point does not hinder the quality of the story at all. Therefore, I will give Days of The Giant a rating of 4 out of 4. Even if it focuses on management and medicine, this book won't bore you.

This book contains descriptive violence contains from the start and medical content. Even though there were outdated words, their meanings were still evident. People above 18 should be able to read it. It mostly focuses on the growth of a person. I even think that this is a necessary read for people that encounter a blockage in their life to get encouragement on how to continue through hardship.
