Ever tried living the life of someone you admire in terms of their success? Double Down by CJ Axlerod is a non-fiction book, that features a story on the above-mentioned question.

Alex Cole is a film star, focussed, good-looking, stylish, fit, and has a lookalike by the name Aaron Peterson. Aaron has adopted living and acting like Alex Cole since childhood. When Alex is attacked by an unknown person, he comes in to act as Alex because his life is in danger. Without knowing who he has welcomed in his life, unwelcomed changes occur. Linda his girlfriend is hurt and hospitalized. Larry is also killed in the course of his investigation. Aaron with the urge to fully take charge Alex Cole closes him in a room to get rid of him. He goes to Cindy's house and confesses his long-time love for her.

The author did a great job in writing the story in direct relation to the title of the book, 'Double Down'.Larry Trent is eliminated by Diana for blackmailing Alex all through. Aaron, on the other hand, meets his unfortunate fate before taking over Alexs' life fully. Larry and Aaron are the ones being referred to as the double.

Axlerod did exceptional work in the building of the characters. Each character took up their roles perfectly. Bringing in Aaron to fit in as Alex Cole, was such a creative idea and intriguing. Then having a long-time friend who later turns out lover remove an obstacle in your success was such a thrilling part. This is referring to Diana doing Alex this favor.

I loved how the author brought in memories of the characters. He wrote them in italics and it was so interesting. Every time I came across this I immediately knew it was a memory, that was always brought out in an interesting and catchy manner all through.

The plot of the book is not predictable. This keeps the reader on toes for the next story. The story was interesting to the end. So, it made me curious about what transpires in the next chapter. The chapters of the book were short and straight to the point. This made my reading great and not tiring at all.

What I loved most about this book was the author's choice of words. They were humorous and created vivid images of the characters. when the author shared a memory of how Aaron perceived the rich looked at the poor, this is what he had to say,' It was as if they were scared just in case the simple act of looking directly into a working-class retina could somehow pass along the DNA of poverty.

I assume this book has been professionally edited. This is on the account that I found a few typographical errors. Apart from that, this was an intriguing story.

I give Double Down a well-deserved rating of 4 out of 4 stars. So intriguing, educative, and humorous.A very clear picture of why we should not trust strangers easily, and always accept that we all have a breaking and weak point. Don't please people while putting your life and success at risk. This is demonstrated in Alex Coles' life. I recommend this book to those chasing their success and lovers of films.
