Money Faucet, is the second in a crime series written by Joe Calderwood that literally has all the blood, thrills, and suspense a book could offer. The intrigue starts with Clint Kennedy, a major stockholder in an American Bank as well as an undercover criminal that assist the Mexico drug cartel drug-lords to launder their money through his banks. In the first chapter, he bursts into the attorney’s office of Jessie Coulter and finds him dead on the night of Halloween. The rest of the chapters fill you in where it all leads to this particular point.

Clint Kennedy was brought up by David and Candace Cohen, along with their own son’s Abe and Jack after his mother passed away. David and Jack are partners with Clint on the laundering of the money, while Abe is in jail as he was caught stealing from his own family. The Cohen’s lived in Miami, Florida, while Clint had chosen Mérida, Mexico as home with an apartment in Miami, as a second home when visiting Florida. He receives a call from Jack to advise that David has had a stroke and he is needed in Miami urgently. His drug cartel friend in Mexico, Pablo, lends him his private jet to fly to Miami to join the Cohen’s only to also discover the demise of his ex-employee and friend Eddie.

Clint had agreed years earlier to his long time friend and ex-employee Edward James “Eddie” Collier that should something happens to Eddie that Clint would step up and become his grandfather’s legal guardian in the case of Eddie passing. Clint is now also tasked to sort out the guardianship of Elmer Collier, Eddie’s comatose grandfather who raised Eddie after his parents passed away.

Each chapter has you set to wonder what to expect next. It definitely leaves you guessing on who is on whose side and payroll. Also, what secrets are held by who, and will it be used or not against them. It shows that even the toughest of people have a soft side and even with hard exteriors of status, there are always secrets to be uncovered and sometimes you get to keep them hidden and sometimes they get exposed. It shows that simple things get messy and then sometimes things need some tiding up in the strangest yet most effective ways.

The only negative I have about the book is that the swearing is everywhere, but it sets the tone of the lifestyles of the various charters, and situations. You need to have an open mind when reading the book with regards to relationships and different life style choices.

I rate this book 3 out of 4 as it was kept e focused on what should I expect to happen next. I recommend anyone that is looking for a book that has suspense, thrills, and a dash of romance thrown in the mix. I found the book to be edited with no errors that I could see to mention.
