Review of The FBI Inspector
The FBI Inspector by Jay Dubya is a collection of crime stories that are solved by Detective Joe Giralo. Detective Joe Giralo is The FBI Inspector and also the protagonist of this novel. He solves the most complicated cases along with his elite team of Agent Velardi, Salvatore and Dan Blackford.
The book is close to 600 pages long and took me a while to complete. Reading this book has helped me improve my vocabulary as I learnt a lot of new words here. The book is written in old English and is quite similar to the writing styles adopted by the writers of classic mystery novels. I loved the way The FBI Inspector solved every case with ease. The author Jay Dubya has done a great job presenting the cases using an ancient writing style.
The language of the book is quite complicated for the everyday reader. It seems to be some form of old English. The conversations are quite verbose and the author has attempted to use as many words as possible. The scenes often seem overdramatic and artificial. The stories are stretched and even unnecessary words have been added to increase the length. The book sounds more like a play than a novel. There isn’t much action in the novel. A major part of this book mainly involves conversations between Detective Joe Girallo and his teammates. The lack of action sequences in the book makes it quite boring to read. I would appreciate if there was something interesting in this novel, like dynamic action scenes, maybe some shooting as well as some other things not based simply on the theory of deduction.
I rate this book 2 out of 4 stars, because the book lacks the primary factors that make it interesting. In the beginning I enjoyed the first few chapters but after that it all seemed pretty similar. I could not understand what exactly happened in most of the stories because the climax is not explained properly.
I recommend this novel to the older generation of readers who enjoy mystery fiction because I believe it will remind them of the old times when this writing style was widely employed. Though the book does not contain explicit adult references, there are certain mentions related to gruesome crimes that would be disturbing to children. So, I do not recommend this book to children below the age of 16 years.
