Clint Kennedy considers himself a good-hearted criminal. South American money-laundering business is his line of work. He is fully aware of how risky the job can be. Therefore, he always does his homework by being in control, thoroughly calculating his moves. With his cleaned money, Clint built his billion-dollar estate in Mérida, Mexico. He also built a boarding school to support local children as a remembrance for a dear friend. But one phone call is all it takes to turn his comfortable life around. Jack, his best friend, delivers devastating news which required Clint to go back to Miami.

It was the beginning of the series of unfortunate events he was about to uncover. For once, things are not according to his plan. As a drug war happened in Mexico, Pablo, his boss drug-lord, instructs him not to come home. Clint was underprepared for the unexpected turn of the week. And he did not expect himself to be standing on a crime scene by the end of the week, one he did not cause. Was he being framed? Does it have any connection to the drug war happening in Mexico? Was it just bad luck?

Money Faucet by Joe Calderwood is an exceptionally thrilling novel. I'm thoroughly impressed by how detailed and graphic each situation is described. Other than keeping the reading experience interesting, the detailed description helps us to understand Clint's mind. It also proves how well the characters are developed. Although it is the second book of The Clint Kennedy Crime Series, you can read the book by itself. And after I finished reading the book, I cannot wait to know more about Clint Kennedy's journey.

The intriguing first chapter is what I love the most from the book, which foreshadows the whole story. It makes me curious and keeps me reading to see what leads to the event and what happens after. The well-developed characters are another thing I like about this book. All characters have profound personalities and clear goals, which we can see through their reactions to certain situations. The change in the narrative's perspective is a genius way of revealing each plot and how they eventually intertwined. I believe this book is professionally edited, where I found only a few spelling and grammatical errors. Therefore I rate this book a 4 out of 4.

However, there are some things I dislike about the book. One of which is the long sentences. These sentences sometimes have too many layers that it took me a while to understand the whole point. The other thing I dislike about this book is the inconsistency of the layout. These issues, however, were not very disturbing. Thus I would not reduce a star for it. I still thoroughly enjoy reading about the eventful week of Clint Kennedy's trip.

I would recommend this book for fans who prefer some fast-paced thriller stories with well-written character developments. Although it is a crime-themed book, this book contains only a bit of violent actions. This book contains profanities so I would not recommend the book for young readers.
