We have come across the assassinations of so many world leaders. We have either read it in our history books or watched the live footage in our televisions. We witness what the scenario is like, or atleast read about it (as I mentioned, history books). Does it ever come across our minds what people might be going through after such incidents? Especially the one's who are not present there but are highly impacted by such events? Well, Abraham Lopez's Going Gone has a solution for that.

Going Gone is an anthology about connections, what the world goes through after a calamity and how individuals are similar in every part of the world. It has twelve separate chapters linked, in a way, to chapter one i.e. the assassination of the world leader. The stories are set in different locations -from Los Angeles to secret bunkers, include people from different backgrounds getting affected by the Prime minister's death either directly or tangentially.

There are numerous things that I didn't like about this book. Those things make up most of the storyline. I expected it to be fun to read; however, I found myself re-reading a few chapters since they were confusing. They had too many unnecessary details to cope up with. While some of them were a bit monotonous.

On the contrary, I appreciated a few things. The fact that it's stories have elements of trauma, pride, grief, loathe and others. To be honest, I loved a couple of chapters and how weirdly they were related to first story. My favourite was the fourth chapter, 'Keed'. Teenage guy runs into a suspicious man who asked for a favour. Things take an interesting turn after that. That's the least I can say without giving out spoilers. ' Showtime ', ' Going and gone ' and ' Snow Mesa ' were interesting as well.

I came across a few grammatical mistakes, which didn't stop my flow though. Hence, the book is professionally edited. There is no sexual content. Although, there are a lot of cuss words. I recommend it to the audience who enjoy reading short stories. There's a bonus too since all of them are linked to one topic.

I would give this book 2 out of 4 stars. I didn't give it less than 2 stars because of a few good chapters that I mentioned in the previous paragraphs. I didn't give it more than 2 stars as I mentioned before, some stories were either dull or confusing or both.
