Tinman by Karen Black & Matt Walton, Minnesota to Anchorage, Alaska, via Los Angeles. The story set off with Gregory McGregor with a phone call from Charley Farnsworth a partner with Tinman company. However, Gregory was very worried. Charley sent him to Anchorage, Alaska with an identity, Dr. Malcolm Gregory which to himself, he didn`t approve. Though the similarity with his name he accepted. Darwin, his loving dog was booby-trapped, which called in for self-assurance. What was so important that Charley needed doing in Alaska, and why not take a direct flight, why go but via L.A? Charley could not just mention to him why it was important over the phone. But after Darwin’s death, questions had to be asked. Malcolm then made arrangements to meet Charley in Denver. But who knew that it was going to be another tragedy? Charley`s life ended in Denver before meeting with Malcolm.

After witnessing Charley`s murder and not to be questioned by the authority, Malcolm disappeared out of sight. In his adventure to Alaska and in the search for Darwin and Charley`s murder, Malcolm meets with Miss Consuela Gonzales and Hennie, who were in fear for his life and in hiding, in Aspen. Miss Consuela was thought to be Charley`s girl by other Tinman`s partners. Consuela later becomes his spy, workmate, and property owner of Charley`s nine-digit number which he had sent to Malcolm before his death in Denver, and a loving wife.

Jack, a pilot in Alaska who made an attempt in taking Consuela and Gregory`s life. When they came back to view the property which they couldn`t find on their first try before the realization that it was in their name. And Abe who was always with Leonard, a lawyer, in his office almost every day. Due to their other job and encounter with Jinshue Manufacturing Company. Which needed to be the only producer of “Rhenium” and outdo the United State. Runed by a private Chinese organization turned to be the men behind Darwin and Charley`s death. As they were feared by both Hennie who escaped a narrow death when his house was boomed. Gregory, who witnessed Darwin and Charley’s death. With the threats out of the picture, Hennie and Gregory became partners. Gregory took Charley`s place at the office. Though sorry for Darwin and Charley, and having Max as Darwin`s replacer. Gregory remained the owner of Charley`s discovery “Rhenium” in Anchorage, Alaska.

Who knew that what Matt Walton left of Tinman, could end up looking good? Every page of Tinman connects very well. Bringing with it a whole new picture but a continuation of the last chapter. Karen Black & Matt Walton's work, under Tinman as a title really clears the air with the many characters. John Washington and Buddy Lee picking up Gregory and Consuela after they have been left to die by Jack, explains how the suffering of the two ends before continuing with the adventure, on finding Charley`s property.

After the search for Charley`s nine-digit number and murder was resolved. Though Gregory took his place in the office. It is not clear in Tinman, who ended up controlling his discovery of rhenium in Anchorage, Alaska. Gregory was asked to sell it to the government.

A 4 out of 4 stars for Tinman. The book is very engaging and it keeps one wondering whether to re-read the last sentences or to continue to the next chapter. It is clear and engaging from the first chapter to the epilogue.

A person who likes reading a novel full of mystery, soap opera, and adventure deserves a Tinman, in their bag pack. I’ve never flown by plane, leave alone a helicopter. But through Tinman, I think I know what it feels likes to travel the United States.
