Pamela Weller, a woman well determined to come up with a treatment for Alzheimer’s which could be a total turn in scientific history and her getaway to success, more fame and also ‘The Nobel Prize’ .On the other hand, Eric Prescott a leading light in the field of Advance Neuroscience who has already given different dimensions for the treatment of the awful disease, is in line for the same. When Ms Weller finally confesses of having a discovery, will it be recognized? On a quest to change the face of findings, will success be allowed to her on a platter? Is she fully devoted or was the discovery just purposeful?

Mr. Prescott on the other hand has awaited the Nobel Prize from long and does not consider Ms Weller even as his competitor. The Prize is all about the feud between two scientists and it has clearly demonstrated the difficulties one faces in the field of research, how self serving becomes the ultimate goal at all levels of a team and how they seemed to be crossing all lines of modesty. Their hunger for recognition has led to culmination of careers and even life’s .Will science truly win over stardom? Do these scientists really want the world to have an amazing form of medicine or are they ending up in the pile of egos and own advantage?

The best part of the book is that in spite of all the science lab related jargon for an ordinary reader Geoffrey Cooper has well depicted the process of drug experimentation , the stages of approvals, all the steps a scientific research has to go through making it really easy to understand and get hold of. The book is a very small read and also well divided into chapters neither lengthy nor bitty. The plot is amazing making the reader finish it off in a go.

But an aspect of the book which I did not prefer is that it did not keep me on my toes, the suspense quotient was missing after getting to know the characters as everything was just falling into place, it is a medical thriller but I would not say it to be a page turner as the end became obvious a little too early.

Hence I would rate it 3 out of 4 stars. I would say the book is fairly edited.

The book is recommended to people interested in fiction and also to people of any field who might consider the book to be having a tilt towards science or medicine .It is a good read for approximately 3.5 hours at the most hence if you are free for a while and want to go through a thriller, the book is an excellent treat.
