Burt Weissbourd’s Danger in Plain Sight tells us the story of Callie James, an irregular heroine for a thriller but perfect for the plot centred around her. Callie a perfectionist, with a safe than sorry personality, living in her own little bubble with her son, is pushed to get in touch with her inner risk taker when her nightmare comes true. Along with Cash, she goes on a perilous journey to solve the problem which has crashed in front of her.

Callie goes onto helping her ex-husband because of her conscience, while asking help from the only one who could help them despite her ironclad morals. She thereafter is drowned into a deep trench of secrets. It is now onto Callie to unravel the mystery to rebuilt her life again and keep her loved ones away from danger.

Weissbourd has beautifully transitioned the protagonist Callie from a shell of herself into a full of life being. The character development is beautiful while being paradoxical which is quite rare to see in a female-centred book. The rest of the characters are introduced in a synchronized manner with the plot and the diverse characters enhance this fast paced thriller. The scenes, settings and characters can be visualized with the exquisite words used while describing them.

My favourite part is the introductions of the Antagonists and their character background. It is impeccably developed and skilfully weaved with the heroine. The part I dislike; the book ends. The plot of Danger in Plain Sight despite being fast paced gives out an idea of most of the characters embedded in the plot which is an icing on the cake.

I can say that the book is professionally edited and well executed as no grammatical errors or spelling errors could be found. The language is quite easy to understand and free of explicit language or scenes. I can further say that the book is therefore suitable for everyone who can understand English, love a good thriller and a female centred book. I would give the book a rating of 4 out of 4 on the basis of its well written and seamlessly executed plot and error free editing.
