Undetected (by Jeffrey Marshall) follows the story of Suzy, the enchanting but mysterious newly wedded wife of Dean Perry. Dean's son, Alex, knows very little about Suzy's past and finds that somewhat peculiar. After some strange incidents that somewhat depict Suzy's true intentions and behavior, Alex's journalism instincts kick into high gear. Alex decides to try to investigate into Suzy's past, and eventually hires a private investigator to aid him in said task. After talking to some important people in Suzy's past, Alex starts to put the pieces together, and what he discovers about Suzy is shocking.

Undetected was exceptionally well written, and so, it was no surprise that my favorite part of the book was the plot line itself. It was full of surprises and shockers that were very unexpected, and once I got well into the book, it was quite hard to put it down. However, that is where the good things about Undetected end.

I disliked how slow this story started off. It took about 15 chapters for something fairly interesting to happen, and this made the story very off putting and made me feel very discouraged from continuing. There were also many unnecessary pieces of information that felt very out of place and served no purpose in building the plot. Similarly, some characters were introduced very early on in the story and seemed to have no purpose, but in reality, played a very important role later on. Thus, by the time you would get to the part where said characters reemerged in the story line, you would have forgotten about them. I also disliked how the story ended. It seemed as though Jeffrey Marshall, the author, didn't know how to properly end the story, so when he did attempt to do so, there was a lot left to be known and it didn't give the reader proper closure.

I would recommend this book to more advanced readers as there are some mature topics mentioned, and some harder vocabulary. This book would be entertaining to you if you enjoy more suspenseful books that provoke your curiosity.

I would give this book a 2 out of 4 stars. 1 star is being taken off due to the reasons mentioned previously, and another is being taken off due to some editing errors and typos.
