REVIEW OF THE JUDGE I&II BY IAN RB MORRIS
All things went south when Bobby Black, a male prostitute and also a client of Peter Ritchie died under questionable circumstances. Bobby was no ordinary prostitute, as he had clients with a lot of money, fame and power. Peter Ritchie, a justice-oriented defense attorney, got tied to the case when Judge Hodge, being the primary suspect, asked Peter to help clear his name despite their great dislike for each other. All evidence points to Judge Hodge. Peter Ritchie made up his mind to do right by Bobby even if it means working for Judge Hodge. Several forces stood against Peter Ritchie in his quest for justice, of note is Judge Hodge, whose deeply held secret was key to liberating himself and Peter Ritchie’s colleague and Lover-Naomi Brahman, who had been kidnapped. Will Peter find out who killed Bobby Black on his quest? or will he lose his own life on this very dangerous mission?
The Judge I and II by Ian RB Morris describes the unraveling of a cold conspiracy, strong will and love gone sour all within the confines of a legal system. This novel was a bit of a drag in the first few chapters of the first book, as author spilled a lot of ink introducing the characters. The author then gradually introduced the suspense and held unto it till the end of the second book. The story is so captivating that you do not want to drop it until you are done reading it. The book lives up to its genre-crime, suspense, and thriller, a style which parades the author’s vast imaginative sense.
It is noteworthy that the author sustained the suspense until the end of the book which kept me glued to the book. The author’s unique style brought out the beauty of the story.
This book contains no erotic or graphic scenes and though I would not recommend it to children, it is suitable for adults and young adults especially those who love books oriented to crime thrillers and law.
This novel was well edited though there are some punctuation errors and a very few typographical errors that are easy to ignore. I rate this book 3 out of 4 stars because of the little bit of drag at the beginning. I would recommend this book to others because it is great book and has a splendid end.
