Review by BlueberryZ10 -- The Champagne Tales
Some folks wish to browse full-fledged novels whereas others wish to browse short stories. If you fall within the latter type of folks, then this book is definitely a must read to relax your reading cravings. This book mostly is a combination of 10 distinct short stories ranging from fifteen to twenty pages for every story. Every of those stories are broken into sections and elements supported the phases and journey of the most characters. All 10 stories revolve around heterogeneous choice of characters and their valuable appreciation given to wines, Champagne specifically.
The crowning purpose concerning this book was that the author took the reader on an emotional roller-coaster ride with these stories. The ride was a mix of all emotional states: happiness, sadness, fear, disgust, anger and surprise. My personal favorite tale is that the seventh one – Reach for the celebs. This story was concerning an adopted Asian lady who was able to make her way into Wall Street and achieved the top of success. She forever had dreams concerning stars throughout childhood however her dreams began to fade together with her age. The story terminated once her milestone was celebrated with a bottle of champagne. Astonishingly, a golden star was brocaded within the cork of the similar bottle.
My least favorite story is the sixth story in the book – Prey the Gay Away. This story is concerning the torture given to gay community in Church centers in a society that has a mean strict for gayness. The Church claimed that their gayness nature is because of a mental malfunction and tried medication to boost their condition. In fact, usage of behavior modification, one-on-one and night medical care was given to those innocent teenagers. the acute brutality given at the centers left me heartsick and sorrowful. Luckily, the protagonist character named Thomas freed himself from this torture center by breaking the champagne bottle on Priest’s head.
I would rate The Champagne Tales by archangel Egyptian deity three out of four stars owing to the exciting stories. I definitely enjoyed reading this book, I feel that these stories would be additional appreciated by broad-minded folks however, I would like that a number of these tales may well be a bit longer.
