The Dark Web Murder by Brian O'Hare

A book Review.

Brian O'Hare is a meticulous writer and has mastered the art of suspense and mystery. I have

read books, but The Dark Web Murders has left me mouth agape. When the author introduces

the first victim, one is not able to tell that the murderer is someone known to the victim and

a close co-worker.



In a network of criminal activities that include pornography, gambling, prostitution and human

trafficking, a judge becomes a victim of an unknown killer. At first, the killer tries to

blackmail the judge before he finally executes his final plan to murder him. The murderer

resorts to posting actions and distaste on a dark web that detectives lay hands on.


What I find interesting is how the author manages to cover the murderer until the last minute

when he(murderer) decides to go for the Chief Detective Sheehan. The murder of Kevin Lake

would easily pass for another murder by the killer until you read to the end and discover it

was an incident apart.


The mystery that surrounds the murders is breathtaking. O'Hare has woven it beautifully and

blend it with light moments of catharsis such as the relationship between Sergeant Tom Allen

and Sergeant Stewart. The book is edgy as the author leads his audience into the unknown world

of dark web and underworld crime by prominent and wealthy people. When the author reveals the

activities of The Club, one is lost whether to hate or

love Edger Doran, Judge Trevor Neeson's assistant.


Before I read this book, I would not have imagined such level of crime exists in the name of

entertainment. I did not like the idea that young children, as young as four to six years old

were mentioned as being used in the sex cartel. As such I do not recommend the book for

children and teenagers. This is purely adult content.


The author shows the expertise of the detectives to unearth the criminals which they execute

with skill and efficiency. I rate this book 4 out of 4 as I did not find any errors and

the fact that it is thoroughly edited. Furthermore, it is not only entertaining but also

informative. I recommend it for adults and people in authority especially those in law enforcement.

as there is a lot to learn from the book. It is a great read.
