Review by CYSON DOROPH -- East Wind, 2nd edition
At the age of forty one, Uri, who is one of the members of the Metsada, cracks down Hakim el-Fazikh and all of his accomplices. Coincidentally, Hakim is a childhood friend of Uri. Though Uri was an efficient employee, his love life was in tatters, which resulted in parting ways with his love Danielle. His new partner, with whom he would be working, Lara Edmond aged thirty-one, who had gone through the FBI anti terrorist training program, currently held the position of Special Agent in charge of primary electronic terrorist traffic because she uncovered messages which terrorists used to exchange information about all of their plans and intentions. On the other hand, Nasrallah the leader of the Hezbollah, was set on establishing Lebanon as a shia nation. This required moving from place to place taking on new recruits to work him so as to achieve his ambition. With flash backs to enable us understand certain events, the story took place in 2013.
Fewer than five, all I noticed were grammar mistakes. This shows that a great deal of effort was geared towards editing. The plot is intriguing, even though the ending left me in suspense. The characters are greatly developed as well as traits, feelings and intentions. Given the fact that the mystery is partially resolved, l wonder if there is a book following East Wind, 2nd edition by Jack Winnick, that provides answers to all of my questions. That aside, I give this book four out of four stars as my rating.
Lara, whose character and role showed love, commitment and hardwork, is my favorite part of this story, though I felt disheartened by individuals who manipulate others for their own selfish gains. I noticed one erotic scene. At location 580 of 1047, is where I first noticed a word pertaining to profanity. The sentence says, "After three stops at uninhabited caves, an Arab suddenly appeared from nowhere, dressed in filthy, tattered fatigues, armed with an AK-47 and two sleeves of cartridges".
While reading this story, I concluded that instabilities keep cropping up due to: the ideologies being around which are sometimes granted empathy for example Walid who got involved with individuals he bearly knew thanks to what he had been told previously and the need to achieve a particular goal and thanks to the admiration held for other societies like in the case of Nasrallah. It seems that all audacious crimes take place over a scheduled period of time and when developments in information and technology occur, the ways of criminality also advance. The first part of the book is about entangling criminals well as the second is about how such crimes have come into existence.
I recommend this book to persons who love stories plotted around criminology, discovering more information about World War 2 and reading in general.
