East Wind by Jack Winnick is a brilliantly written book. The book starts off at a great pace and maintains that pace till the end. The story is very exciting with a very tightly-packed plot.

Uri was a member of the Metsada, the Special Operations arm of Mossad. During a mission, he found some vital information relating to a possible terrorist attack in the USA. Following this, he is sent to the USA to closely follow the case and help prevent the attack. Lara is an FBI agent. She is a computer expert and she is responsible for keeping an eye on any suspicious terrorist activities electronically. Uri and Lara are teamed together to erase this threat and safeguard the country.

At a tender age, Walid is impressed by the leader of the Hezbollah. He decides to join the group. He moves to the USA for his higher studies where he is exposed to western culture. As the time comes for Walid to carry on an attack for the Hezbollah, will he show up? Or will his new knowledge about western culture forbid him from committing such heinous crime?

The writer has done a brilliant job with this book. The first few chapters move back and forth in time but the smooth narration helps you understand everything very well. The writer introduces his characters very prominently with all the required information needed to know about the character. This helps the readers to get a better understanding of the background of the character. This was my favourite part of the book.

The plot is very well crafted and we were not provided with any clue about what lies ahead. This made the story very exciting and the book managed to grasp my attention very quickly. The book has a high level of suspense and that will surely make you want to read this book in one go. The book is a short read with only 266 pages.

I also liked the development of Walid's character. From being a 16-year-old boy who falls for the preachings of Hezbollah to be a matured person living in the USA and experiencing the western culture himself. His character has really developed a lot throughout the journey. I'll not discuss more about this because that might give away some spoilers. I'll rate this book 4 out of 4 stars.

This book was flawless and there was nothing that I could dislike in this book. I found only 2 errors in this book. I believe it has been professionally edited. I thoroughly enjoyed the story. I'll suggest this book to fans of suspense thrillers. People who love Jack Ryan will definitely love this book. There was only one scene containing sexual content. It isn't graphic at all but I'll still suggest children to avoid reading this book.

Excellent review! It was interesting to see how the leaders of Hezbollah recruited and indoctrinated young men to their cause. The Jihadists inspired a strong sense of purpose in the boys. Interesting study in psychology!
