Kelly and Tom are on their honeymoon in Honduras. From the moment Kelly decides to go into a store and get a gift for her nephew, the story moves fast. Kelly discovers the store to be what it seems. She enlists Tom’s help, and the couple finds themselves in an international terrorist plot. The honeymoon appears forgotten and the newlyweds set out to save the world.

Dorothy May Mercer’s book E M P Honeymoon: Tom and Kelly is a fast-paced novel that kept my interest throughout most of the book. The characters grab your attention quickly. The heroes are funny and have likable traits. Dear Leader is evil and must be stopped. I did not like a couple of pages that covered technical information. I grew bored with that section of the book. My interest began lagging, and about the time, I worried I might not like the book, the story picked up and did not disappoint. While the technical part seemed unnecessary, it helped with the storyline. However, it was at the beginning and had me wondering if I was going to like the book.

E M P Honeymoon: Tom and Kelly is classified as a romance novel. I am not a big reader of romance books and almost did not read this book. The romance was very light. A hardcore romance reader might be a little bit disappointed. The reader that likes terrorist plots or good mysteries would like this book.

This book receives a 3 of of 4 rating. The three rate is due to being listed as a romance novel. Although I do not care for romance novels, if a book is considered a romance novel, it should have a little more romance. The listing as a romance novel and the period of technical description is the only bad thing I have to mention. The book is humorous and has a good banter between the characters. The characters are very likable. The book contains a few profane words. The editing was good and without typos.

In summary, E M P Honeymoon: Tom and Kelly is a good read, and I gave a 3 out of 4 rating. Dorothy May Mercer’s characters are interesting and likable. The book fell short on romance but made up for that with a well-developed plot and fast-moving story. There are not any typos and a small amount of profanity. Take the time to read this book.
