The Mystery of Flight 2222

Review by Lorrie Ehrenberg
I thought the first few pages of the book were poorly written, but the writing became much better after those first few pages.
The thing about the book I liked the least (without giving anything away) was what they did to survive on the raft. The thing I liked most about the book was the good story idea, the different characters and the unexpected turns.
I would recommend this book to adults only who like science fiction and eerie mysteries. A few parts make the imagination go places children should not go.
The story starts out with two people who sit together on a flight to Argentina. The woman is nervous about the flight and the man seated next to her tries to keep her calm by talking to her, keeping the conversation light. He ends up telling her about a "game" he plays on flights where he chooses seven different people on the plane and tries to guess their names, where they work, their marital status, their personality, etc. So they play the game and chose seven of their fellow passengers and try to guess all about them. When they have finished the game, they both fall asleep. They are soon awakened by the crew telling them that the airplane is going down in the ocean and to brace for impact. As it turns out, the only survivors are the two passengers who played "the game" and the six passengers and one crew member they had chosen. The book goes on to tell their story of survival (or not).
The author described the two main characters quite well and we get to know them even better once they board the plane and play "the game". After the crash, we get to know the rest of characters in the story as well, at least we think we know them. Things are not always as they appear.
The author keeps the story interesting during the days the crash survivors are on the raft. The story takes turns that are unexpected, scary and exciting. You can find yourself holding your breath at times and making sure you are very quiet at others.
The books ends with a twist that is totally unexpected. "Thumbs Up" to the author. You don't see this one coming.
The only mistake I found was in Chapter 6, the word programmed was spelled wrong. It only contained one m.
I give this book 3 out of 4 stars for a good story and interesting characters. The writing wasn't the best I ever read, but the story was interesting and kept you wanting to keep reading till the end.
