The book Twisted But True was about a man's life in the military/law enforcement fields. The book goes over details of different scenarios in daily life and on the job. The book is full of information about the daily tasks of an officer with much more thrown in throughout. It actually helped me to understand how hard and dangerous yet rewarding that kind of career is. Overall, it is a very interesting book that almost anyone could enjoy.
I rate Twisted But True by Darren Burch 4 out of 4 stars. I give it a 4 out of 4 stars because, to me, it was truly interesting and easily readable. I did not give this book a 3 out of 4 rating because I feel that I would recommend it to just about anyone because I enjoyed it so much! A load of information and humor make it worth the read for sure.
What I enjoyed most about Twisted But True is that it is real and offers people not involved in the law enforcement field a glimpse into what it is like. The book even offers background and foreshadowing to help you better understand the entire book and its individual stories all connect making it even easier to read and comprehend. The thing I liked the least about the book is that I wanted more stories. This is a very enjoyable book with a lot of dark humor, details, and is well-written.
Twisted But True by Darren Burch was intriguing from the very first chapter. This book is very well-written and descriptive with a wide range of vocabulary. This book is not for the faint of heart. There is a lot of dark humor full of truth, a few explicit words, gory details, and a down-to-earth vibe throughout. I truly enjoyed the "twists" at the end of each chapter providing you with more insight into what you just read and what's to come.
The chapters range from silly to serious to gross and in between. There are light-hearted, funny nicknames for the characters with a lot of funny puns in each chapter. The chapters are not just about while on duty, you do get some background at the beginning and daily life activities throughout. There are some real pictures to go along with the book after one of the chapters, which was very cool and gives you a more connected feeling since you can kind of put a face to the name. This book seems to be well edited and easily readable with very few minor errors that are barely noticeable.
