I am a fan of crime thrillers especially when I cannot guess the end. I can also relate to the characters use of sarcasm as a defense mechanism. I plan on giving this book a try, hopefully I can get past the use of excessive profanity. All in all this was a great review !!

I appreciate your thoughts. I don't like such content as well.
Thank you for appreciating.

The premise sounds really interesting, but stories that are unnecessarily heavy in profanity are real turn-offs for me. This is a great review!

The first part of the story reminds me of when my best friend died 9 years ago and now I am left with our other best friend that doesn't really talk to me anymore. I wonder if it's one sided friendship. Moving on from that, I'm intrigued by how the characters are developed in this novel. Great review!

This thriller with twists and well-developed characters seems intriguing even if I'm not nostalgic of the past. Thank you for your great review!

I most like Litherland's portrayal of Phil; he is humorously self-deprecating and resorts to sarcasm as a defense mechanism. The text is peppered with witty descriptions from Phil, such as: "I reckon he must've been born partially arrogant, because by the time he's nine, it's fully formed. Twenty years later, he's overflowing with it. He's lying in a bath of arrogance and watching it flop over the sides and onto the floor." Wayne first comes across as an unlikeable and unsympathetic character, but he eventually reveals more depth. I also appreciate the presence of a strong female character; Tina is intelligent, resourceful, and supportive.

I appreciate a little humor in books that approach such heavy subjects as the ones you mentioned.
And I love a good thriller!
Thank you for your thorough review!

I am glad you touched on Wayne’s character, while reading the sample I wasn’t a big fan of his but I’m glad to hear that may change as the story moves forward. While I don’t mind profanity in a book, when warranted, I am out off by excessive use of profanity. I think this is one I will skip reading but your review is great and I’m sure this book will be appealing to many.

Wonderful review! I love thrillers, and the quotation you included at the beginning of the review is the perfect introduction. Profanity is not something I care for in excess either. The novel promises a good mystery and well-developed characters, so it definitely seems worth the read.

An interesting page-turning thrilling mystery with a hint of humor in the book "Waves Break (on Unknown Shores)" by Barry Litherland, which has a cast of well-developed characters. The story follows two childhood friends, Wayne and Phil. In spite of Wayne's reckless behavior, a bond has been formed between them when they became adults. The appears quite appealing to read.
life is only knowing the unknown, we can do this by reading books easily- Online book club is a great place for this. This is what I believe.

I'm definitely interested in reading this book in full. I think it's an interesting tale in the ripple effect and how much your past can haunt you. The introduction to the characters and their friendship dynamic is important in establishing how the characters live the rest of their lives.

I don't like frequent use of profanity in a book. However, good character development and narrative with themes of crime is what I can go for. Great review.
